My observation is that the gap is due to the technical condition of the stock at the previous days close.
For instance at yesterdays close SPWR was in an Hourly Chart accumulation phase and the 5 minute chart was also in an accumulation phase that began just 20 minutes before the close under very heavy buying volume.
Hourly Chart was in the process of confirming the 25 HR.MA as support and the angle of the 25 HR.MA had become flat and could now act as support.
The 5 minute chart had just bounced up off it's 25 period MA confirmIng it as support.
The open this morning represented the continuation of both those accumulation phases. I suspect the volume confirmed the committment.
At the end of the session today, SPWR is in an Hourly Chart distribution phase and is oversold.
The high volume Dragonfly Doji from the 3:00~4:00 hour gives a bullish bias and is testing support at the 25 HR.MA
5 Minute chart is in a distribution phase and the 25 & 50 period MA's are both resistance. Volume is not heavy and sell volume appears to be substantial.
Not nearly as bullish a scenario as yesterdays close, IMO.

Out RUT put plus 1 (sold too late.)
Oust ASF plus 8% (sold way too early but met target)
Out FWRD plus 2
Bot July OIH 195 Puts @ 11.50. -- sold at 8:20 at 13.75
Dummy me, didn't sell MON this am (stick to the plan!!)

.....have a limit order for 5k @ 12.50 for wcsi. hoping it drops down there tomorrow. also, keeping an eye on LL. might nibble if it gets to 11.75 area.
trout, i had mflx pop up on a scan back on 4/10. was scared off by that huge gap up. thought it would have to get filled eventually. good luck.
