That's a nice in the money trade on LKQ. Its relative volume to its 90-day avg was 2.67 & a near perfect 99% of Calls vs Puts when it comes to total options volume. Not to mention $1.68 million bet is massive for this stock.

Spotlight Big Options Volume Trade of the Day!

EEM appears to have bottomed as someone paid $3.6 million in premium when they bought 27,752 contracts of the 3/16/18 46 Calls for $1.31 per contract. Break even is $47.31 which is still far below resistance near $48.

Its 52 week R-Square is .96 which means a relentless uptrend. Barring an unforeseen lengthy market meltdown, this bet should be very doable given the 3 months time frame.

One thing to consider is that etf options may represent a hedge against a stock trade. Not saying that is. the case here, but it is something to keep in the back of your mind.

That's a very good observation. Looking at the beaten down chart though, I'm thinking they're thinking it's time to get back into the game. StrataSearch keeps crashing on me the past two weeks. Have you tried using it lately?

I would agree with that. If it were a hedge they probably would have chosen a higher strike.

I've used Stratasearch without issues for years. At which point does it crash on you?

Importing prices from Google Finances. SS won't allow me to do it and instead keeps crashing & closing the program.

Import from Yahoo works again, for some reason. That is how I am doing it now.

I've switched to ASCII importing when the yahoo issues started back in May. For me that wasn't too big a problem since I was already doing manual imports for forex data.

@mahkoh Is there anywhere to get all market data via acsii? I have found the downloading the full symbol list included in SS via yahoo gets about 1/2 way through then fails. However, looking at the data shows that it was up to date. If you try to run any scans though it fails so then I rebuild sector indexes and then everything works properly again. Be nice to get ascii for the whole market. Thanks

At this point I'm developing systems for stocks that pay a significant dividend. The pool is some 150 stocks, I obtain the prices from Stockfetcher's csv file in one go. If you upgrade to the advanced subscription you can go as far as 1000 tickers.

Just be aware that your data will not be adjusted for splits and dividends. Hence my idea to play these tickers. If it all works out as expected the strategies should be profitable, and any occasional dividend you run into is extra.

Can you provide a list of the 150 stocks? Are any of these div aristocrats? What criteria did you use to select this particular pool?

Thanks

Rich
